I don't think Jesus wishes us to have a busy month without honoring him. Rose; 19, Juanita F. McKillion. Happy birthday! I know I missed some birthdays, Happy birthday to you. The Emmet City Council awarded at its regular meeting of December 9, Mayor Ottis P. Otwell with a plaque for the past 8 years of dedication and commitment to Emmet as well as Alderman Jack Faulkner of 12 years and Alderwoman Renee Sells of 6 years. Thank you for a job well done. A big thanks to those who helped with the 5th annual Emmet parade. Thank you to the E.V.A. ladies who served refreshments. A ribbon cutting will be held Saturday, December 19 for Emmet's own Hair Loft on Highway 67. See Chamber Report for time scheduling. Open house will be from 8 to 1 p.m. Emmet School's Gifted and Talented class had the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council which presented 'The Boar's Head Feast,' a Christmas madrigal dinner held in Hope. This was an educational and experience for all, if you missed it, we hope they do this agin in the future. Don't miss it again. The Emmet Elementary School music class will present a Christmas program Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. at the school cafeteria. We also wish Ms. Yovonne Thomas our music teacher a speedy recovery from her broken leg, hurry back! Jimmy Goodson is still recuperating from a heart attack and mild stroke, he's currently staying in and out of the hospital. An afghan drawing for $1 donation is being circulated to help aid in medical expenses. Jimmy is a father and husband. For information contact Trish 887-3379. Your support is greatly appreciated. If you look down the streets of Emmet you'll see just about blue piping throughout, that's because the water project started a few weeks ago, estimated completion date will be middle of next year.
