Rider Recently Graduated From State Police School

David R. Rider, 32, a native of Gurdon, graduated December 18 from the Arkansas State Police 1998-B Recruit School and was sworn in as a commissioned trooper.

Trooper Rider was one of 29 recruits to complete the 17-week training course at the State Police Training Academy based at Little Rock.

Trooper Rider will be assigned to Troop K of the Highway Patrol Division at Mena.

Colonel Thomas A. Mars, director of the Arkansas State Police, addressed the new trooper in ceremonies at the State Capitol in Little Rock.

Among the dignitaries present were members of the Arkansas State Police Commission, State Police commanders and other state officials.
