CARTI Kids Join Christmas Party

Gurdon resident, Rex Potter, 11, was among young cancer patients and their families at the annual CARTI Kids Christmas party sponsored by the CARTI (Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute).

The CARTI Kids are current and former pediatric cancer patients who get together several times a year for activities, including the Christmas party and a summer weekend retreat.

Kids from throughout Arkansas joined their parents and siblings at the event. The CARTI Kids and all of their siblings each received a gift from Santa Claus, who visited with the children after lunch at the River Market District in Little Rock. After receiving their gifts, guests continued with the fun, ice skating or visiting the Museum of Discovery, both at the River Market.

Gifts for the CARTI Kids were funded through money raised from the Yvonne Richardson Memorial Golf Classic, which is sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas and the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association.

CARTI is a not-for-profit radiation therapy organization with two centers in Little Rock and facilities in Searcy, Mountain Home and Conway.
