Military NewsPublished Wednesday, December 30, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesArmy Spec. Roger L. Avery, son of Louis and Sam Freeman of Okolona and a 1981 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, has been decorated with the U.S. Army Commendation Medal. The medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the army.
