I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. It was so quiet at our house after Christmas that we spent Saturday at the mall in Texarkana. We had supper in Hope with my brother and his wife, Billy and Minnie Ella Schmitt. We played several games of dominoes. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on the 23rd with all their children.

Everyone in Rosston either celebrated on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Some even had their get together on Saturday before the holidays. They did the wise thing since we were covered up in sleet for several days. The highways were kept clear, but the planes had lots of trouble. We're thankful we had electricity, but many people weren't as fortunate. Some still don't have power in other states (at this writing).

We're thankful our brother-in-law, Bill Lusby, of Camden got to come home from the heart hospital in Little Rock before the sleet came. He is doing better thanks to answered prayers.

Joey and Ellen Wallace visited with us for a while on Wednesday night. They went to Waldo and got two of their nephews and they spent the night with them during the holidays.

The young adults of our church had supper at the church on Monday night and played games at the pastor's house afterward. They report a good time.

Herman and Floy Waters of Dallas spent the holidays at their vacation home in Rosston. Claudie and LeVergne White were their guests on Christmas Day.

Paul and Dot Broussard went to Florida to visit their children and grandchildren. They returned home and then went to south Louisiana to spend a few days with Paul's relatives.

Ruth Vinson is spending the holidays with her daughter and grandchildren in Haynesville, La.

Our pastor, Bro. Petie, will help in the New Year's Eve service in McNeil and will also preach the last sermon at the the North Lewisville Baptist Church. If you can't go, please pray for him.

Happy New Year to everyone! Make resolutions if you can keep them. I can't.
