EmmetPublished Wednesday, December 30, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneAnita Allen Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It's time now to make those New Year's resolutions that half of us won't be able to commit to. I read something that made a lot of since: first, be honest; is the resolution going to make you feel good about yourself? second, are you doing it for yourself? third is this something that you could get excited about? and fourth, is this the right time for you to do this? I'm going to give this strategy a try. Lord knows all else failed. Good luck to you. Birthday wishes for December 20th through 31st are Chad Hodges, Herbert Reed, Bennie Books, Talesha Nolen, Nathan Hill, Sherry Raines, Eugene Hopson, Bob Kelsey, Jan Faulkner, William White, Gary Don Faulkner, Rose Martin, LaWanda Block, Cynthia Goodwin, Margaret McKamie, Allissa Adamson, Emmet School principal Frank Henson, Zack Hoover, Tommy Tipton and city councilman Wayne Baker. Happy birthday. Emmet will be turning over a new government January 1 with Dale Booker as Mayor. Council members will be Wayne R. Baker, Stan Jernigan, Dick Snell and Billy Joe Arnett. The Emmet water bill read one month "Together We Stand, Divided We Fall. Let's United and Support Our Local Government." As all cities and towns across the nation have divided throughout leaderships, we should all remember that supporting your government was God's idea and we should let Him guide us for only He has the right answers. Jimmy Goodson is still recuperating from a heart attack and mild stroke. He's currently staying in and out of the hospital. Donations are being asked for to help aid in medical expenses. Jimmy is a father and husband. For information contact, Trish at 887-3379. Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated. Time to update your pee wee calender. Coach Kelvin McClellan wishes to invite everyone to support the pee wee players again. Here's the schedule:
