BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, December 30, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year. The ice storm put a damper on my travels. I didn't get out from Tuesday until Friday. Laura and Christy Butler of Marshall, Texas, were in church with Mamaw Morine Butler and Ruby Vines. Their families were here for Christmas and the girls are spending a few days. Chris Butter from Ft. Sill, Okla., was here on a weekend pass. He visited his mom and Chad and family at Cabot. He then came to visit David, Peggy and Cody Butler of Blevins and the Dexter Butlers, Todd, Phyllis and me. We had Christmas with him on Saturday night. Alvin Butler had Jan and Bud Daniels from South Carolina and Peggy Butler from Rosenburg, Texas, spending a few days with him. Perna Mason spent some time with daughter in Camden. Marguerite Dorman had a birthday and Christmas. All of her children except Martha were present. Martha lives in Tennessee. Roads were bad for travel. Mike, Jackie and Amy Allen of Lincoln, Pat, Butch, Jason and Julie Allen of Little Rock, Andy and Coleen Allen of Hot Springs visited J.D. and Marie Allen. James and Norma McKelvy of Texarkana stopped by to see me one day. They had been visiting her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Buddy Murrah. A group of youth from our church, along with sponsors, are going to youth encampment at Hot Springs. Those attending are Bro. Tom and June Stevens; Willie Faye, Julie and Leslie Clements; Sara Powell; Misti Tounsend; and Alisha and Gary Don Dorman. Russ and Marilyn Carlton plan to go on Tuesday night for Russ to sing. Marie Tye had all her family visiting her for Christmas. Quite a crowd, but they enjoyed it. I am sure most families got together, but I don't have a report on them. Basil Norman is in the Hope hospital. He hopes to get home soon. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
