BoughtonBy Aline ClausPublished Wednesday, September 29, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune We are enjoying our first ting of Autumn. Willie and I attended the funeral of our daughter-in-law, Carolyn's dad, Norvel Lewallen, Saturday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Mr. Lewallen died Thursday and was buried Saturday in South Fork Cemetery near Gurdon. We extend our sympathy to this family. Friends of Wanda (Lucas) Long will be sorry to know she is very ill. She would appreciate receiving a card: Wanda Long, 3103 Riviera Shreveport, LA 71107. David, Beth and Clint Anderson had supper with their daughter, and sister, Amy Johnson, her husband and Master Jacob of Hope one night last week. Everett Orren watched the Arkansas-Alabama football game Saturday afternoon with Jim and LeAnn Meador. Sorry Arkansas got beat. Tommy Hooks' daughters, Karen, Angela and a friend visited Cathrine Hooks during the weekend. Sandra Almand accompanied her mother, Mae Blount, to the emergency room at Hope Saturday night. She was feeling better Sunday. Theresa Grifford, Margie Lucas, Charlene Wicker, Willie and myself visited Syble Brown during the week. We extend our sympathy to the family and relatives of Dr. Charles Avery. He passed away Saturday night. His funeral was Tuesday. Willie and I enjoyed Bennie Walthall's visit with us Saturday afternoon. He also visited Neil and Hazel Meeks. We are glad Hazel came home from the hospital. Winderleen Jester went to some doctors in Little Rock last week and got a good report. Thomas White spent several days in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He is home, but remains very ill. Glendene Haynie also remains very ill. Remember them in your prayers.
