Evie HicksPublished Wednesday, January 6, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneEvie Hicks, 87, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, January 2, 1999, at a Murfreesboro hospital. Mrs. Hicks was born August 11, 1911, in Oklahoma to Gerome and Evie Ward Covington. She was a housewife and a cafeteria worker at a nursing home. She was a Baptist and a Sunday school teacher for years. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Hicks. Survivors include two nephews, Clyde Covington of Prescott and Doyle Covington of Little Rock; three nieces, Joyce Campbell of Bryant, Sylvia Turner of Montgomery, Texas, and Faye Stovall Preston of Prescott. Graveside services were Sunday, January 3, at Murfreesboro Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Turner officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
