Wayne GibsonPublished Wednesday, January 6, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneWayne Gibson, 96, of Bodcaw died Wednesday, December 30, 1998, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Mr. Gibson was born on December 15, 1902, in Flint, Texas, to Emmett R. and Mary E. Mayfield Gibson. He was a cowboy, blacksmith and rancher in New Mexico and Florida. He moved to Arkansas in 1970 where he continued ranching. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Seabees during World War II. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Keith and Betty Gibson of Bodcaw; one twin sister, Winnie DeWitt of Prescott; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Wayne C. and Jana Gibson of Willisville; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Wendy and Robert Bailey of Bodcaw; and three great granddaughters, Keri and Misty Gibson of Willisville and Jennifer Bailey of Bodcaw. Funeral services were Saturday, January 2, 1999, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Jerry Evans officiating.
