Writing Class Is Slated By LeaguePublished Wednesday, January 13, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Artesian Arts League of Prescott is sponsoring its first workshop for aspiring fiction writers from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, at the auditorium above Prescott City Hall. The workshop is entitled 'Basic Novel Structure' and will cover characterization, dialogue, setting and plot. Speaker for the all-day event will be Prescott's author Penny Richards, who has published 28 books for Silhouette, Harlequin, Steeple Hill and Harper-Collins. Richard's books romance, historical, inspirational and mainstream have been published in eight languages in 17 countries, with more than four million books in print. She is the recipient of several industry awards, and her books consistently make various best-seller lists. Early bird registration is $45 if received by January 30. The first ten people to register will receive a line by line critique by Richards of no more than the first 20 pages of a work in progress. After January 30, cost of the workshop will be $55 until February 15, then it will be $60 at the door. Arts League members pay $45.
