Wolf Pride Week DeclaredPublished Wednesday, September 29, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneMayor Howard Taylor met with Prescott High School students Thursday, September 23, at Curley Wolf stadium. He signed a proclamation and presented it to PHS senior high cheerleaders, Laura Beth Williams, captain, and Amanda Crow, co-captain, and to the PHS Wolf Pride marching band, with drum major Russell Niemeyer accepting. The proclamation declared this week of September 27 through October 4 as Wolf Pride Week. All students at PHS, PMS and PES, all local businesses and all community members are asked to participate in activities. Monday, September 27, was Hats off to the Curley Wolves.' The junior Wolves played Nashville. Tuesday, September 28, was Tie-up the Scrappers.' Everyone was encouraged to wear a tie. Today, Wednesday, September 29, is Sunday Best for a Team Who Beats the Rest.' Everyone is to dress up today. Thursday, September 20, will be Bag a Scrapper' Day. All of Prescott are encouraged to wear baggy clothes. The Curley Cubs will play Fountain Lake here at 7 p.m. A bonfire will follow the junior game on the PHS gym parking lot. Friday, October 1, is Do it Right with Maroon and White' Day. All are asked to wear maroon and white. From 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. PHS students and parents and community members will be painting car windows with white shoe polish. No tinted windows will be painted. If you do not want your windows painted put your drivers side visor down. A school- and community-wide pep rally at the Curley Wolf stadium will also be held starting at 1:30. PHS Curley Wolves will play Nashville at 7:30 p.m here. Everyone is encouraged to take a noise-maker (no cannons) to the game. Shaker cans will be available at the east end of the Wolf stand.
