Dr. Martin Luther King celebration to convene with the Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia Monday, January 18, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Rev. Ron Browning, pastor.

There will be a gospel musical Saturday, January 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Muldrew Chapel C.M.E. Church in Gurdon. Everyone and all churches, choirs, groups and soloists are welcome. Sis. Sharon Lasker, worship leader. Rev. Ronald Scott, pastor.

Section One meeting and fifth Sunday singing will convene with Macedonia Baptist Church in Boughton Friday-Sunday, January 29-31. Everyone is welcome. Rev. C. W. Harris, president of Section One. Sis. Ethel Harris, president of Section One W.M.U. Bro. Lawrence Grimm, president of singing choirs. Rev. Lonnie Hughes, pastor.

Mrs. Ola M. Bailey has returned home after spending the holidays in Los Angeles, Calif., with her sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey and family and Earnest Bailey and daughter Helen Wiley and other relatives and friends.

Joe F. Welch has returned home after spending two weeks over the holidays in Los Angeles, Calif., visiting his son, Joe Lee Welch, and his family, and daughters Gennette Welch and Calletta Welch and friends, Clemonia Bell, Gracie Grigsby, Bernie Crow Jr., BoBo Gatlin, George Furgerson, John Bailey Jr. and family and other relatives and friends. He also visited the Golden Gate Bridge and other scenery.

Third Sunday night fellowship singing will be held at Bethel Independent Church of the city on January 17 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Bro. Roosevelt House and Bro. Leodis Lyons in charge. Rev. Daniel Flemons, pastor.

There will be a mission program immediately after morning worship at St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell. Everyone is welcome. Sis. Erma Buford, president. Rev. L.B. Beard, pastor.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. at the Elect Church of God In Christ in Benton for Sis. Coy Rhinehart, age 94, mother-in-law of Vivian Rhinehart.

Alee Mitchell, a long-time dedicated plumber of the Gurdon community, is in Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Please pray for him and his family. Thank you churches of the community.

Stephanie Radford celebrated the senior Women's social for New Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday night, January 9, at 6:30 at Superior Bank in Arkadelphia. It was an enjoyable occasion. Mrs. Radford is the first lady of New Mt. Zion.

Phillip Allen is reported to be doing better.

Bryan and Alicia Shells have returned home to Las Vegas after visiting their parents in Little Rock. The Shells also visited Jerine Hatley, Ned Welch, Rev. Rufus R. Hatley, Winifred Burton, Laura Grigsby, called Hazel Welch, Bernard Hatley, Fred Hatley and other relatives and friends. Bryan also prepared the evening meal for Jerine Hatley over the holidays. Valerie Smith of Chicago, Ill., and Lindell Marshall of Benton, cousin of Jerine Hatley, also visited.

The children of evangelist Bertha Holliman celebrated her birthday Saturday, January 9, at the Gurdon Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m. Sharon, Don and Terry, her children, were the hosts. About 60 guests attended, along with other guests. Guests included Rev. A.B. Hubbard, Rev. Betty Gulley, Rev. and Sis. Bragg, Sis. Ruby Allen of Curtis, Eula Quarles and Herman Quarles of Gurdon and Fannie Scott of Arkadelphia.
