Published Wednesday, January 20, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

It's not often that the seniors get easy game, but the ones in Lewisville were easy compared to what the Nevada teams had faced in the Saratoga tourney the week before, when both teams were eliminated after only one game.

Ramona Evans scred 23 points for the Nevada as the Lady Jays caught fire the second period and took off for the victory. Others scoring in double figures for Nevada were Jackie House with 14 points and Alexis Madison with 12. Pam Young scored two points.

Julius Gulley led his team again, this time with 18 points as the Blue Jays took control early in the game. Keon Page finished with 12 points for the victors.

Three players for Lewisville scored in double figures: Johnson with 23 points, Turner with 13 and Austin with 10.

Others scoring for Nevada were Marcus Harper with 8 points, Erik Haynie and Recco Holliman with 4 each, Jamarrio Beasley and Jason Yarbrough with 3 apiece and Geoffery Box, Casey Burns and Jerrun Lewis scored 2 each during the game.

This week the Nevada teams were to have traveled to Genoa Central on Tuesday and they will host the Stamps Yellow Jackets Friday night. Both are conference games.

Next Tuesday the teams will host the Lewisville teams in a re-match.
