LADY JAYS VS. STEPHENS

Early in the season, the Lady Blue Jays had visited Stephens and had come away victorious. The Lady Roadrunners were after revenge Friday night and almost pulled it off before a capacity crowd in the Nevada gym.

In fact, Stephens led after the first three quarters, 14-12, 23-22 and 36-29. In the final period the Lady Jays caught up, 41 all, to send the game into overtime.

In the five-minute fifth period, Alexis Madison hit three two's, Ramona Evans hit a two and a free throw and Jackie House hit a free throw for 10 points for the Blue and Grey team.

During the same period, Deatrick Pace hit a 3-pointer, Bridgette Smith scored with a two and a free throw and DeSheka Porchia hit a 2-pointer for the Lady Roadrunners.

Porchia led the two squads in scoring with 19 points. Two other Lady Roadrunners scored in double figures: Pace made 14 and B. Hildreth scored 10 points for the losers.

Evans was Nevada's leading scorer with 17 points and House scored 16.

Others scoring for Nevada were Madison with 8 points, Pam Young with 4, Carrenthia Gulley with 3 and Nekina Adair scored 1 point.
