Tri-Service Club

Published Wednesday, January 20, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Tri-Service Club met in the home of Mary Agnes Orren on Friday, January 15, with Anne Wilson as co-hostess.

The business meeting was presided over by the president Babs Barnes. It was reported that during Thanksgiving, Tri-Service members delivered baskets of food to five families residing in Nevada County.

At Christmas each member gave a gift to those residents in the nursing home who otherwise would not have received a gift.

Lindy Franks reported on the cultural program. Three times a year Tri-Service, with cooperation from various businesses and civic organizations, engages the Tell-A-Tale Troupe from the Arkansas Art Center to perform plays at Prescott, Nevada and Emmet Schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to receive cultural enrichment. The performances are free to all students.

After the meeting was adjourned the members were served cake and ice cream. They enjoyed a time of socializing.
