Tri-Service ClubPublished Wednesday, January 20, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Tri-Service Club met in the home of Mary Agnes Orren on Friday, January 15, with Anne Wilson as co-hostess. The business meeting was presided over by the president Babs Barnes. It was reported that during Thanksgiving, Tri-Service members delivered baskets of food to five families residing in Nevada County. At Christmas each member gave a gift to those residents in the nursing home who otherwise would not have received a gift. Lindy Franks reported on the cultural program. Three times a year Tri-Service, with cooperation from various businesses and civic organizations, engages the Tell-A-Tale Troupe from the Arkansas Art Center to perform plays at Prescott, Nevada and Emmet Schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to receive cultural enrichment. The performances are free to all students. After the meeting was adjourned the members were served cake and ice cream.
