John R. Cross

John R. Cross of Ingleside, Texas, 75, died Sunday, January 3, 1999.

Mr. Cross was born on August 15, 1923, in Prescott to Randolph and Margaret Cross. He served in the U.S. Army during Word War II and he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Moriah. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Company. Mr. Cross was also a licensed funeral director and an embalmer and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rand and Margaret Cross, a son, Tommy Patrick Cross, a brother, Noel Cross, and his sisters, Nettie Cross, Denver Carter and Reba Stovall.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Cross of Ingleside; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Richard and Joyce Cross of Forney, Texas, and Michael and Sylvia Cross of Ingleside; a stepson, Rusty Chambers of Oklahoma City; a stepdaughter, Suzanne Travis of Oklahoma City; a brother, Charlie Cross of Prescott; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, January 7, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.
