Our pastor, Bro. Petie Ward, brought a good message this past Sunday on "The Blessings Within His Covenant" from Psalms 25. Visitors in church today were Bro. Olvie Dorman and Joey and Ellen Wallace had their two little nephews with them.

Congratulations to our Chasity Reeves. She was awarded a 4-year $7,900 Alumni Scholarship at SAU. She plans to major in business administration.

Congratulations also goes to Mrs. Ida Carpenter. She was selected citizen of the week by KVMA, a Magnolia radio station. She was awarded with a dinner for two at Western Sizzlin, a pie from Smitty's Grocery, an 8X10 photo by Gresham's Photography, a $10 gift certificate from the Magnolia Flower Shop, a basket of toiletries from the Magnolia Tree and also a plaque designating her as citizen of the week. Mrs. Benson, her minister's wife, sent in her qualifications. She is a member of the Church of Christ in Willisville. We are very proud of the both of you ladies.

Sympathy to Timmy and Jessie Potts of our church. Their father of Texarkana passed away this week. Funeral services were Monday at the Fouke Cemetery in Fouke. They are both good workers in our church. Please remember them in your prayers. Lewis and Cindy Jackson are parents and Margaret Jackson is grandmother.

Jim Dixon had a heart attack at his home on Thursday. Sue Dixon took him to Hope, where he was transported by ambulance to St. Michael's in Texarkana. He underwent surgery Monday morning. He had one blocked artery and they did a balloon procedure. Please remember him and Mona and their family when you pray.

Jana Gibson of our church had gall bladder surgery in Texarkana Friday Morning. She is home, but still needs our prayers. She is the daughter of Dail and Marjorie Evans.

The B.C. Dillards visited the Joe Dillards on Sunday afternoon.

Roscoe's sister, Veneta Bustin, entered Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Prescott this week. Roscoe and I visited this afternoon. Jana Gibson and Virginia Dillard also need our prayers.

Wayne and Tommie Lew Jarvis had as guests this weekend, her granddaughter, Michelle, and her husband of Houston.

Jack Hart of Irving, Texas, was our guest on Saturday morning. He also visited A.B. and Maxine Luck and I'm sure the Darrel Harts.

Roscoe and I went to Camden on Saturday and had lunch with Bill and Pat Lusby. Bill still isn't doing well. Other guests were their son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Denise, of Ft. Smith.

The youth of our church went bowling on Saturday and ate pizza. They are planning a Valentine banquet for the "old folks" of our church on Feb. 20. We are looking forward to this.

Those having January birthdays in our church were Lyn Dean and grandson Ted Morman, Maxine Luck, Chasity Reeves and Louise Dillard. Dorothy and Henry Dixon have an anniversary. Sue Dixon retired from school teaching in January and Roscoe and I had our first son, Dwight, fifty years ago today (Sunday).

The grandparents literacy program at Nevada got off to a good start this week with Valeria O'Keefe, LeVergne White, Dot Broussard, Ruth Vinson and myself attending. Virginia Dillard was in the hospital and Sue Dixon has to go to her doctor in Hot Springs, so they couldn't attend. I think Ida Carpenter will participate later. We all enjoyed it.

Virginia Dillard is home now and getting therapy. Remember her and Joe in your prayers.

Roscoe has been working on an appliance for son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Booie, in Prescott. We had supper on Thursday night at Wolves. The food was great and on Friday night we ate at Western Sizzlin in Hope. We came back to their house and watched a movie.
