Lydia Grimes Glass

Lydia Grimes Glass, 100, of Shreveport, La., formerly of Caney, died Thursday, January 21, 1999, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport.

Mrs. Glass was born May 12, 1898, in Bluff City to John and Lucy Bustin Grimes. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Morris Baptist Church in Caney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gill Glass, who died in 1987 and a grandson, Johnny Otwell.

Survivors include two daughters Wanda Glass Johnson and her husband, Howard, of Colleyville, Texas, and Faye Glass of Shreveport; one grandchild, Jim Otwell of Watauga, Texas; one grand daughter-in-law, Barbara Otwell of Little Rock; three great grandchildren, Shonda Johnson of Crystal River, Fla., Cindy Mayo of Atoka, Okla., and James Otwell of Watauga, Texas; one great great grandchild, Cody Mayo, of Atoka, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 23, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney with Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial was in Caney Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
