GHS Hall Of FamePublished Wednesday, January 27, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesGurdon High School has announced the introduction of the Academic Hall of Fame for Distinguished Alumni and Faculty Members. Committee members for the Academic Hall of Fame are Beatrice Stafford, Carolyn Kuhn, Marianne Newton, Gaines Thompson, Stan Escalante and Leonard Gills. Guidelines for the award are: Nominees must be a graduate of Gurdon High School or Bell High School or a faculty member of either school. Requirements: Graduates must have graduated at least 15 years ago from school and faculty members must have 25 years of service. Accomplishments: Nominees must have distinguished themselves in their field in the state, region or nation. Nominations may be made in the form of a letter and should include name, year of graduation, accomplishments and reason for being nominated. Deadline for nominations will be January 1 of each year except for this year, which should be received by February 15. Recognition: Winners of this award will be recognized at the graduation ceremony in May and will receive a plaque. Recipients are responsible for furnishing an 8x10 framed photo for hanging in designated area. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
