Everyone is welcome. Rev. Ivory Curry, pastor. There will be a program Sunday, February 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Eastern Star Baptist Church in Smithton. 'Take a Sweetheart to Church' is the theme. Special guest is New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Rev. Quinton Radford, pastor and speaker. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Marshall Allen, pastor. The officers and members of Antioch Baptist Church of Emmet will celebrate their pastor and his wife, Rev. and Sis. Billy Roberts, anniversary. Everyone is welcome. Special guest will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Rev. Quinton Radford, pastor and speaker. Rev. Billy Roberts, pastor. The third Sunday night fellowship singing will convene with St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell at 6:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Bro. Roosevelt House and Bro. Leodis Lyons are in charge. Rev. L.B. Beard, pastor. Annual men's day program Sunday, February 7, at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Sparkman. Everyone is welcome. Special guests will be Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville along with Voices of Praise. Rev. Richard Dixon, pastor and speaker. Rev. Wallace Ingram, pastor. Mrs. Johnnie Allen of Gurdon was honored with a retirement dinner Monday night, January 25, at Western Sizzlin in Arkadelphia. She retired from the Arkadelphia Human Development Center. She worked the 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. shift for one year and day shift for 14 years. Guests included her daughter, Doretha Halton, and friend of Little Rock, her son, Thomas R. Allen of Gurdon, David Quarles of Gurdon, superintendent Margo Green, Esteva Forte, AHDC retiree staff of Development Specialist I, program supervisor Shirley Helms, Jerry Furlon, DDS team leader and co-workers, Judy Tidwell, Jerine Hatley, Pam Vine, Zella Knox, pastor, evangelist Betty Gulley, Demetris Allen, Ella Henderson; retirees Helen Summersville, Odessia Hatley, Mattie Newborn and Mary Jane Newborn; other supervisors, Ester Mitchell, Eddie Junior Mitchell, Vivian Rhinehart and Mary Ellen Smith; DDS Calley Wells; nurses Rosie Gill and Elsie Wells; Mr. Forte of Arkadelphia School system, Lois Eason, Carl Tidwell, supervisor Jo Burroughs and Amos Helmes. It was a lovely affair and served buffet style. Ivory Young is in University Hospital and Shun Russell is in Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. They are reported to be doing fair.
