New Caney Baptist Church's Girls Missionary Auxiliary will host a Valentine's banquet Mexican fiesta on Saturday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $3.50. Carrie Street Church of God will hold its first women's assembly on February 14 at 3:00 p.m. Carolyn Crow will be the speaker. Eastern Star Baptist Church youth will sponsor its fourth annual Valentine's program on February 14 at 2:30 p.m. This year's theme is 'Bring a Sweetheart to Church.' Guest churches will be Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Quintin Radford will bring the message. All churches are invited to attend There will be a meeting on Sunday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gurdon City Hall meeting room to discuss plans for a 20-year class reunion for the GHS class of 1979. Everyone is invited to attend. The sixth annual Saw Mill Days Festival in Sparkman will be held on Saturday, April 3. Entertainment, crafters and food vendors are needed for the event. All proceeds benefit the Little League of Sparkman. Jerry and LeAnne Smith of Prescott welcome the arrival of Lauren Elizabeth Anne Smith on January 29 at 1:31 p.m. at St. Michael's Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds and 14 ounces and is welcomed home by her big sister, Michaela, age 4. Her maternal grandparents are J.T. and Marvalene Clark of Chouteau, Okla. Paternal grandparents are T.J. and Ruthell Smith of Gurdon.
