Citizen Nominations SoughtPublished Wednesday, February 3, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesThe Gurdon Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for citizen of the year for 1998. Persons wishing to make a nomination must submit a letter of recommendation detailing why they feel this person should be recognized by the community. This annual award is presented to citizens who have enhanced the quality of life in Gurdon through their commitment and contributions to the city. "The Chamber realizes what a special place Gurdon is," Charles Shaver, the chamber president, said. "We feel like the citizens are what makes Gurdon such a unique and wonderful place to live." The citizen of the year will be announced at the annual banquet. Nominations must be mailed to the chamber at P.O. Box 187, Gurdon, AR 71743. Deadline for nominations is February 16.
