Jonquil Festival March 5-7

Old Washington Historic Park begins final preparations for the 31st annual Jonquil Festival, which will be held March 5, 6 and 7. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

Walking around the historic village of Washington, visitors will be inspired to turn their thoughts toward the warm days of spring and summer as thousands of bright yellow jonquils once again herald the change of the seasons.

Over 150 crafters from several states will offer for sale a wide variety of products, such as potpourri, woodwork, leather goods, wreaths, baskets, quilts, porcelain dolls and much, much more. Musical entertainment will be continuous during the three-day period ranging from bluegrass and country and western to gospel.

Old Washington Mercantile will be open for those who wish to browse through a large assortment of unique gift items representative of the 1800's to the present.

Williams' Tavern Restaurant located in the park will be open daily with a menu consisting of excellent home-style cooking at a modes price. No reservations will be accepted during the three-day event. Visitors may also choose from the large number of food concessions which will be set up around the town.

Located nine miles northwest of Hope on U.S. Highway 278, admission to the festival is free. A $2 fee for parking will be charged.
