George William SteedPublished Wednesday, February 3, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneGeorge William Steed, 92, of Prescott died Tuesday, January 19, 1999, in Hope. Mr. Steed was born on September 18, 1907, to Seth and Charity May Steed. He was a retired Arkansas forestry and had served in a division of the U.S. Navy. He was a 32nd degree Mason at the Prescott Lodge. Survivors include one stepson, William Edwards of Bend, Ore., one stepdaughter, Marjorie Edwards McKibbin of Burbank, Calif.; five grandchildren, Suzi Mercy, Sara Singletary, Karl Steed, Max Steed and Phillip Steed; eight great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Rick and David; and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, January 22, at Shackelford Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Burke officiating. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
