Matthew W. Herring, a senior at Nevada High School, has been awarded a Foundation Scholarship to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. The scholarship has a four-year value of over $13,200 and includes resident tuition as a full-time student and room in the university's residence halls.

Herring is the son of Dickey Herring and Terry Jarvis of Waldo.

The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville has released its list of students making the honor roll the last semester.

Students from Prescott making the honor roll were Vicki Vasser, who was on the chancellor's list in Sam M. Walton College of Business Administration; Ryan Hobbs, who made the dean's list in College of Engineering; and William Virden, who was on the dean's list in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

Students named to the chancellor's list must have a 4.0 (straight A) grade point average. Students named to the deans' list rank in the upper 10 percent of students in their individual school or college and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope has announced its fall 1998 chancellor and dean's lists.

Making the chancellor's list from Prescott were Debbie Burke, Dawnda Bellas, Steven Sheets, Rhonda Cxeto, Amy Farrar, Stacy Callicott, Brandi Jester, Steven Inlow, Nancy Hull, Wanda Neal and Jheon Norvell.

Making the chancellor's list from Emmet were Anita Foster, Melissa Langston and Rhadonna Mixon.

Laura Cutler, Linda Phillips, Carla Loe, Jeremy Kretz and Sherry Young made the chancellor's list from Rosston.

Other students from this area making the chancellor's list were Amelia Roberts and Janet Choate of Blevins; Carole Snowden, Jared Thomas and Emmsa Lee of Delight; Nancy King of Waldo; and Amanda Speicer, Erin Follis and Deborah Fox of McCaskill.

Students from Prescott on the dean's list included Thomas Smith, Nicole Simon, Sharon Richardson, Kenneth Russell, Shari Foreman, Jennifer Greenwood, Clara Gulley, Jesna Cornelius, Joseph Dougan, Melanie Reitzell, Jayson Rhodes, Tamra Marlar, Lakisha Stuckey, Amber Young and Tammy Wall.

Brenda Brantley, Casey Curtis, April Carton and Keith Hyatt of Rosston were also on the dean's list.

Those from Emmet making the dean's list were Kathleen Beaman, Kimberly Angel, Kimberly Ammos, Frances Fry, Julie Clements, Amie Land and Catherine Marcum.

Amber Glass of Cale made the list as did Alicia Gulley of Bluff City.

Jason Burton and Mya Tharp both of Blevins; Belinda Faulkner of Chidester; and Johnnie Henderson and Matthew Phillips of McCaskill also made the dean's list at UACCH.
