Most of our sick folks are much better now.

The beautiful weather we had last weekend gave everybody a touch of spring fever, but we know that the cold weather is not over yet.

Last week I reported that Stacy and Jennifer Hilderbrand were in a music contest in Branson. The contest was actually in Hollister, a short distance from Branson. I have since learned that Stacy and Jennifer entered the contest separately and that both are finalists. I told you they were good. They will be returning soon for the winner to be selected.

Bill and Kay Sellers are getting the fishing fever now. Kay said she is moving the hunting equipment out of the camper and moving the fishing equipment in. I wouldn't be surprised they don't make a trip to Millwood before long.

The strong winds last week played havoc with the flowers in the cemetery. It also collapsed a funeral home tent from a recent funeral. I understand that Linda Carman and Debbie Phillips gathered some of the flowers up and returned them to their proper places. Thanks for the good deed.

Speaking of cemeteries, when was the last time you took a stroll through the local cemetery? Much can be learned about our ancestors by reading the information on the tombstones, especially in the older section of the cemetery. Some of these people are probably your relatives, so take your children down to the cemetery some pretty day and explain to them about their ancestors so they will appreciate their heritage.

We noticed the names of several of our local students in the honor roll list in last week's paper. Keep up the good work.

We were sorry to learn that Kay Nelson's mother, Mrs. Helen Kelley, suffered a fall a few days ago at her home in Prescott. Thankfully her injuries were not too serious.

This week's thought is from Kin Hubbard: "The first thing to turn green in the spring is Christmas jewelry."
