MARIJUANA ARRESTPublished Wednesday, February 10, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesA 29-year-old Arkadelphia man was arrested with his alleged marijuana growing operation seized. This arrest was made in a cooperative effort between the CCSO and Drug Task Force. Shannon Fields was arrested by Sheriff Troy Tucker and DTF agents subsequent to the execution of a warrant upon his apartment. A search of the premises turned up a number of growing marijuana plants and other items associated with the manufacture of marijuana. Arkadelphia Police Department investigators helped with the search. Marijuana and its constituent tetrahydrocannibonal (THC) is a schedule VI controlled substance. Its manufacture, distribution and possession is prohibited by the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Fields is expected to be charged with a single count of manufacture of a controlled substance.
