In Our TimePublished Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesAdults planning to participate in this year's youth baseball/softball program as coaches should make plans to attend a coach's meeting on February 22 at Gurdon City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Gospel singing concert will be held February 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Church of God on Highway 67 South in Gurdon. Featured group is Future in Glory. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be a bake sale Saturday, February 20, at the City Park on Highway 67 South. The sale is sponsored by Operation Clean-Up Youths. The sale will start at 11 a.m. until sold out. Hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks will be available. The city of Gurdon Animal Control Department wants to remind you that it often has unclaimed dogs that would make wonderful pets. People are encouraged to adopt these animals and give them a good home. Call City Hall at 353-2514 or one can go by to look through pictures of available dogs for adoption. The Clark County Fair board will meet Thursday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m at the fairgrounds. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon February 18 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For an appointment, call 353-2514. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
