HillcrestPublished Wednesday, September 22, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneVisiting Myrtle Hastings over the weekend were her son, Cotton Hastings, from Little Rock and her daughter, Edith Hunter. Louise Pounds' daughter, Bobby Arlington, of Little Rock visited her on Friday. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Jean Cottingham family. She passed away Wednesday. Anita and Jimmy Maxwell visited Grandmother Grace Tyree one evening. Mary Spearman visited Oscar Hopson last week. We send our prayers out to Leamon Buck, who is in the hospital. Guest of Ruth Rouse was her daughter and son-in-law, Bro. and Mrs. Gene Cloer. Sophie Taylor and son visited her mother, Marie McKelvy, and Lucy Taylor, her mother-in-law, on Sunday. The sisters, Eva and Mary Beth Jones, were able to get out Sunday for church and lunch. Gladys Stephen visited Edna Formby and Ruth Rouse one evening. We only have one birthday this week. It is Annie Burke on September 16. Our Sunday church guest was First Church of the Nazarene. Charles and Nan May sang and, as always, we enjoyed it. Guest of Mary Coleman and Gertrude Estes were their sisters and niece, Clara and Betty Wishard, of Little Rock on Wednesday. Other visitors were Lloyd and Mary Ann Newton of Gurdon and Juanita Wyatt of Pine Bluff. We want to express our thanks to Betty Hunt and Jack Holleman. They are so faithful to come out every Tuesday morning for a sing-a-long. They sing the old songs and these folks sure enjoy that. Sunday morning Jesse Steed went to church and his family, Dollie, Nan and Charles, came back to eat lunch with him. Visiting Martha Manning this week were her daughter, Bobbie Booker, of Emmet, granddaughter, Sandra Browning, of Emmet and Pat and Charles Milam, who took her out for Sunday dinner. Visiting Mozelle Gill Sunday were her son and daughter-in-law from Camden, Norman Gill. Ora Dildy visited Jesse Steed, Flossie Martin and Edna Formby Sunday evening. James and Charlene Sassamore from Camden visited Minnie Moore Sunday. Naomi and Donald Ingram visited Lois Piggee, Oscar Hopson and Mariah Burks Sunday. Edna and Homer Hopson visited Oscar Hopson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wright from Hot Springs spent the weekend with her mother, Carolyn Gilbert, and her Aunt Gladys McSwain. James Cummings from Dallas spent the weekend with his father, Noel Cummings, and other relatives. Keri Sullivan and daughter from Chanel Valley visited her grandmother, Marjorie Mitchell, Wednesday.
