BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Our weather is a cold 28 degrees this Monday morning. We have some plum bushes trying to bloom. Willie and I had some visitors last week, we enjoyed and appreciated so much. They were Roy and Syble Brown, Donald Crane, Donald and Patricia Ingersoll, Harley and Mary Hillery, Julene and Willie Hulan, Linda and William Formby, Herbie Ridgell, Neil Meeks and Bennie Walthall. We were real sorry to hear of the death of Rhoda (Brown) McNeil of Slidell, La. Rhoda lived in our community several years and still has some nieces and nephews around Prescott. We send our sympathy to her family. J.D. and Mary Ann Lucas are happy to be home from St. Michael Hospital, where J.D. had by-pass heart surgery. He also spent some time in rehab. He seems to be doing well. Bro. Jerry Smith and Lenord and Faye House visited Chloe Orren during the week. Everett Orren and Edgar White spent Monday with Fate House of Powderly, Texas. Fate is doing very well physically. He misses his wife, Elizabeth, since her death. Cathryn Jester was honored Saturday night with a birthday supper at Norman's Restaurant by her husband and children, Pete, Darlene, Denise and Jimmy Joe. The young people (youth group) of our church, Shady Grove Baptist Church, brought Willie and me supper Sunday night. Thanks so much. We have a wonderful youth group in our church. Herbie Ridgell's granddaughter, Ashley, spent the weekend with him. Other visitors during the weekend were Jeff and Josh Ridgell, and Robin and Elizabeth Ridgell, Andrea and Alex.
