Area artists need to get their creative thinking caps on.

For the second straight year, one local artist will be spotlighted as the winner of the 12th Annual Chicken and Egg Festival T-Shirt Contest. Their work will be displayed on shirts sold by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.

The theme and design for the shirts must relate to the festival. It should include the current year (1999), Prescott, Arkansas and 12th Annual Chicken and Egg Festival.

The designs are limited to three colors and should be submitted to the Chamber on 8x10 or larger formats.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said the final winner will be determined by a selection committee.

However, she added, the Chamber and committee reserve the right to reject any and all entries.

But, the winner of the design contest will be taking home a cool $50 cash prize.

The deadline for entering the T-Shirt contest is Friday, March 5. Entries should be taken to the Chamber office at 116 E. Second South.

The winning design will be announced in the Nevada County Picayune, in its March 16, edition.

For more information about the contest, call the Chamber at 887-2101.
