Valentine's Day was anything but loving and peaceful for a Nevada County, as their home was burglarized.

According to Wayne Kisselburg, criminal investigator for the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, the home of Randy Lowdermilk was broken into between 1:15 and 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14.

Nine long guns, a camcorder, small safes, a child's piggy bank containing $30 in quarters, and 10 silver dollars were taken in the burglary.

Entry into the home was gained by forcing a carport door.

Kisselburg said Monday afternoon that Jason Watson, 17, of the Hope area had been arrested for the theft.

Kisselburg said that Arkansas State Troopers Darren Neal and David Sterling made the arrest on a traffic stop on Interstate 30. Watson was allegedly going 103 miles per hour. A few coins was found on his person, but Watson allegedly confessed to the crime.

The incident is still under investigation.
