I've noticed a few flowers blooming in the neighborhood lately. H.W. Beecher once said. "Flowers are the sweetest things that God ever made and forgot to put a soul into." Mark Twain once said, "Whatever a man's age, he can reduce it several years by putting a bright-colored flower in his buttonhole." Take a look at all the beautiful flowers this spring and it will make your days seem brighter and make you forget about your troubles.

I don't have much news to report this week. I guess that means things are going along smoothly in this neck of the woods.

Laverne Green was not feeling well and missed church services last Sunday. We hope she feels better soon.

Here's some good news. Mrs Lucille Kirk will be celebrating her 90th birthday on Feb. 20. That's a milestone worth celebrating. She lives on Knight Street here in Bluff City, but is presently in the Longmeadow Nursing Home In Camden. We hope she has a happy birthday.

Bryant and Lisa Carman celebrated their wedding anniversary last week by visiting Hot Springs and spending a night at the Arlington Hotel. Others celebrating anniversaries this month are Eddy and Connie McKelvy and Billy and Linda Carman.

Patricia Farr and Linda Carman traveled to Hope last Sunday for a bridal shower honoring Sharla Williams, bride-elect of Robert Orren. Robert once lived in the nearby community of Reader.

Milton Barlow was visiting in the community last Sunday and led singing during the morning worship services.

Our thought this week is from Josh Billings: A man with a small head is like a pin without any, very apt to get into things beyond his depth."
