OTHER RESULTSPublished Wednesday, February 24, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesOther scores from the District Tournament at Stephens had Genoa defeating the Lewisville senior girls in the first game on Monday, 36-27. In the second game, the Genoa Central senior boys took a 67-42 victory over Stamps. The final game on Monday, Feb. 15, had the Stephens senior girls advancing over Stamps, 61-47. The next night, the Nevada senior boys beat Lewisville 48-39 to advance; the Nevada senior girls stopped Blevins 54-46; and the Gurdon senior boys took out Blevins. Thursday night in the first game is when the Lady Devils were taken out by Stephens and the Stephens senior boys eliminated Genoa 82-58 in the last semi-finals game that night. Friday night in semi-finals action, the Nevada Lady Jays took out Genoa, 47-33, and the Gurdon senior boys easily took care of the Blue Jays. In the other contest Saturday night (preceding the Gurdon-Stephens senior boys game), the Stephens senior girls took the tournament trophy with a 48-42 win over Nevada.
