This, she said, is in line with what other schools in the area do. The board agreed and changed the policy accordingly.

A computerized Spanish class will be taught at GHS, through the Arkansas School for Math and Science. The classes will be limited to 10 to 12 students.

With two computer labs at GHS, space is available for this project. However, an aide will have to be hired to monitor the class.

The district has $30,000 available for this program, but had to commit now in order to participate next year when it begins.

A final order of business concerned the Athletic Hall of Fame. This honor began two years ago and quickly developed a backlog of nominees.

However, this backlog has pretty much been exhausted, with 14 former Devils or Devil coaches being nominated for the 1999 induction.

The banquet is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, and has been a success in its first two years.

However, the board discussed not having annual inductions in the future, instead going to every two or three years.

Large groups of inductees, the board agreed, will be a thing of the past.
