B&PW Clubs Help Women

Published Wednesday, March 3, 1999 in the Gurdon Times

Arkadelphia B&PW Club joins thousands of other B&PW clubs across the country in providing financial assistance to women for education.

Business and Professional Women is a non-profit organization founded to promote professional standards and prestige for working women and to ensure continuing educational opportunities for women.

A $500 scholarship will be awarded to provide financial assistance to a Clark County woman attending Henderson State University or Ouachita Baptist University.

Selection will be made on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, personal achievements and financial need. She may be a recent high school graduate or a mature woman entering or returning to school.

Any woman who completed a four-year high school curriculum or the equivalent and ranked in the upper half of her class scholastically is eligible to be considered for this award. Her primary residence must have been in Clark County for a period of one year prior to making application for the scholarship.

A completed application form must be submitted on or before June 30. Request for application forms, questions and completed forms may be directed to Dr. Barbara A. Holt, B&PW Scholarship Committee, 423 Clay Street, Arkadelphia 71923, or phone her at 246-2281.
