Dixon, 99, of Arkadelphia, formerly Okolona, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, in Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. She was born Feb. 6, 1909, in Okolona (Meeks Settlement), daughter of Alex and Mattie Brooks Meeks. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a home maker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Agustus Dixon, an infant son, and her son Eugene Dixon and two daughters, Earnestine Moss and Florine Fricks and ten siblings. She is survived by her children, Bobby G. Dixon of Hot Springs, Richard H. Dixon, of Okolona, Johnny Dixon of Prescott, Paul Dixon, Roy Dixon and Terry Linda Ingram of Rockford, Illinois, and Artis Dixon of Arkadelphia; one sister, Celestine Mitchell of Arkadelphia; 45 grandchildren; 110 great-grandchildren; 50 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter. The funeral will be held, Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Rufus R. Hatley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery by Williams Funeral Home.
