Wanda Burton BrownPublished Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneWanda Lee Burton Brown, 83, of Prescott, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008. She was born on Jan. 6, 1925, at Finley, the daughter of William E. Loyd and Carrie Elizabeth Thompson Loyd. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Burton; her parents; three brothers and one sister. She was a member of Prescott First Assembly of God Church and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Brown of Prescott; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Virginia Burton of Prescott and Travis Burton, of Arkadelphia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Harold Owens of Hot Springs and Mary and Bill VanScoy of Prescott; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas O. Loyd of Malvern; and three sisters, Rachel Carr of Arkadelphia, Pat Armstrong of Whitewright, Texas and Mae Rene Williams of Bismarck. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bros. Brian Hilland and James Owens officiating. Visitation was held Friday evening, Oct. 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment was in the Alpine Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood. Pallbearers were Erman Mauldin, George Howell, Cloys Runyan, Loyd Halcombe, Darrell Francis and Jack Moncus. The guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
