Evelyn DickersonPublished Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Evelyn Baker Dickerson, 86, of Hope, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, in Bryant. She was born on Jan. 22, 1922 in Nevada County, to John and Annie Bevert Baker. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Crossway Church of Texarkana, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Eldridge Dickerson; by one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Wicker and Edward; by one granddaughter, Brittany Dickerson; and by three sisters. Her survivors include two sons, Ralph Dickerson and Eddie Dickerson and Susan, all of Hope; six daughters, JoAnn Goodson and Don of Benton, Berniece Green and Brady of Bodcaw, Carolyn Powell and Harry of Bogalusa, La., Jane Mitchell and Nathan of Curtis, Margie Cook and John of Benton, and Sherry Ward and Paul of Hope; one sister, Betty Jean Cagle of Prescott; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and other relatives and friends. The grave side service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott, with Rev. Michael Mauldin officiating. Burial followed. The arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. The family received friends Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
