Harold PoindexterPublished Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Harold Ural Poindexter, 77, of Bodcaw, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Heather Manor Nursing and Rehab in Hope. He was born on Aug. 23, 1931, in Clark Co. to Michael and Betsy Watson Poindexter. He was retired from the former Meyers Bakery of Hope. He was a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw; a member of Hope VFW and an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris and Floyd Poindexter; and two sisters, Victoria McMillan and Ester Holmes. His survivors include his wife, Margaret Poindexter of Bodcaw; two sons, Thomas Harold Poindexter and Carole of Texarkana and Jimmy Don Poindexter; one step-son, Mike Nevis of Spring Hill; three step-daugthers, Ann McWilliams and Larry of Hope, Theresa Curtis and Mark of Spring Hill and LaNore Hooker and Donald of Buckner; four brothers, Homer Poindexter of Shover Springs and Bill Poindexter, Wilbur and Jewell Poindexter, all of Bodcaw; two sisters, Etta Sanders and Mildred McMIllan, both of Hope; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28, at Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw, with Revs. Roger Arnold and Tom Stephens officiating. The burial was in Bodcaw #1 Cemetery in Bodcaw. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. The family received friends Saturday, Sept. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
