Linda Jean Smith Snowden, 51, of Dallas/Ferris, Texas, died Sept. 20, 2008.

She was born April 5, 1957, an only child to Mr. Lee John Gillard and Nannie Mae Smith on April. She received her education in her hometown of Prescott, where she received her high school diploma. Shortly after she relocated to Dallas, Texas, she furthered her education attending Mountain View and Cedar Valley Community Colleges. She went on to be a very successful business owner for Kids R Us and Complete Look Salon and Boutique. She accepted Christ early in her lifes journey and at her sunset was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Rose Primitive Baptist Church of Ferris, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Lee John Gillard and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Young.

She leaves to cherish a loving husband of 34 years, Kenneth L. Snowden of Ferris, Texas; two daughters, Lakiesha (Demetrius) Rankin of Lancaster, Texas and April Rena Snowden of Dallas, Texas; mother and stepfather, Nannie and Wesley Williams of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kenneth Joshua Roberson, Demetrius King Rankin and Demarcus Lamond Rankin, all of Lancaster, Texas; a half brother, Larry Walker of Prescott; two half sisters, Takeesa Gillard of Dallas, Texas and Carolyn Wilson of St. Louis, Mo. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral services was Friday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m., at Greater Mt. Rose Primitive Baptist Church of Ferris, Texas, with Pastor A. L. Snell officiating and Saturday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott with Rev. Frank King officiating.
