Carroll Morehead

Mr. Carroll David Morehead,

86, of Prescott, died Sunday,

Sept. 14, 2008, at Hillcrest Care

and Rehab in Prescott.

He was born on January 18,

1922 to John William and Ollie

Lillian Ward Morehead. He was

a wholesale grocery salesman

who had owned and operated

two grocery stores, one from

1950 to 1961 called Waterloo

Grocery Store in Waterloo and

the other from 1963 to 1987

called Carrolls Grocery and

Market in Prescott. After his

retirement he then served as

Prescott/Nevada County

Veterans Service Officer for 15+

years. He was a member of First

United Methodist Church of

Prescott; Army Veteran of

World War II; and a member of

the American Legion and member

of Prescott V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by

his parents; his wife, Hera

Louise Bailey Morehead, who

died in 2005; and one brother,

Bruce Morehead.

His survivors include one

son, Ronald David Morehead of

Springtown, Texas; one daughter,

Anne Gautsche and Sandy

of Bedford, Texas; three grandchildren,

Melissa Morehead

Booth-Simonsen of Tulsa,

Okla., Hannah Gautsche and

Sam Gautsche, both of Bedford,

Texas.

The funeral service was held

at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16, at

First United Methodist Church

of Prescott, with Rev. Jerry G.

Westmoreland officiating. The

burial was in Willisville

Cemetery in Willisville. The

arrangements were by

Brazzle/Cornish Funeral Home

of Prescott.

The family received friends

Monday, Sept. 15, from 6-8

p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral

Home of Prescott. The online
