Jr. Go-Devils fall to Jessieville LionsEvangeline WilliamsPublished Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the Gurdon Times The Devil's Torment wasn't a match Thursday night for the Lions Roar as the Gurdon 7th grade and junior high teams were defeated by Jessievilles teams. According to junior high school coach Hank Lewis, the junior varsity teams just didn't seem to have enough drive in them for their first real game of the season. Lewis said the seventh graders lost 0-14. This team has a lot to work on, and for some of them this is their first time playing. He said the junior high team lost 6- 30. These guys had minimum mistakes, and they didnt get lined up in the right spot. Lewis said usually there is improvement between the first and second games. LaDaron Giles said, We had lots of runs we could have scored, but we tried. Nathan Felton said, This was our first game, we have lots of work to improve.
