False imprisonment prompts criminal suitBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the Nevada County Picayune A Prescott man has been charged for false imprisonment for his role in an incident that occurred on July 21. According to records on file at the Nevada County Circuit Clerks Office, Antoine Levar Purifoy, 420 E. Sixth St., Apartment 2, has been charged with false imprisonment, terroristic threatening and residential burglary. Court records indicate that the victim made the report on July 21. Prescott Police Department Officer Danny Martin took the initial report. The affidavit filed by Prescott Police Department Detective David Thomason indicates that the victim said Purifoy arrived at her home that afternoon and held her for several hours. The victim reportedly said that Purifoy had asked if she wanted to live or die, and that hed threatened to kill her if she tried to run. The affidavit was filed July 22 and Purifoy. The charge of false imprisonment carries a possible fine of three-10 years and a fine of not more than $10,000.
