A woman wielding a knife who

allegedly stabbed a Prescott man is

being held in Nevada County pending

her return to Texas on an outstanding

warrant.

Mabell Charles, 36, with an address

listed in Martin Apartments, reportedly

stabbed the victim in his car, though

the incident apparently started earlier

that evening.

According to information on file

with the Nevada County Circuit Clerk,

Prescott Police Department Sgt. Larry

Miller and PPD Officer Cole Hillery

were called to Martin Apartments

shortly after 7:30 p.m. when neighbors

complained about Charles. According

to the affidavit filed by PPD Detective

David Thomason, the neighbors had

been on their porch when Charles was

involved in an altercation. Charles

reportedly approached the two on the

porch, wielding a knife and naked

from the waist up. She went into the

house but left quickly, according to the

report.

Just a few minutes after their arrival

at the scene, officers were approached

by a man who had a rag wrapped

around his left hand and had blood

coming from the rag. The victim was

told to go to the hospital, according to

Thomasons affidavit.

Officers were then notified by dispatch

that Charles had called in and

was requesting an officer. She was

arrested at the scene without incident

but reportedly told police during questioning

that she had been in the car

with her victim when the two began

arguing, and that the knife she used

belonged to the victim.

According to the court records, the

victim said that he and Charles had

been arguing and that he had told her

to leave his residence, threatening to

call police to do so. The victim reportedly

stated that Charles had jumped

into the car with him as he was

attempting to leave and begin trying to

attack him with a knife. According to

the court records, he then grabbed her

shirt and blocked the knife with his left

arm.

(The victim) had minor cuts to his

left forearm area and had heavy bleeding

coming from his left hand,

according to Thomasons report.

Charles was in court for first

appearance on Aug. 21, two days after

the attack. She is being held without

bail because she is wanted in Texas for

parole violation.

Newly-appointed Eighth Judicial

District Prosecutor Ashley Parker said

that he didnt know Charles background

with Texas authorities and that

he wasnt at liberty to discuss the case.

In an unrelated incident, Mandy

Harris, 34, 754 Nevada 249, has been

charged with assault after she allegedly

tried to run another vehicle off the

road.

Harris reportedly then stopped in

the road, forcing the victim also to

stop, then backed into the victims car.

The presence of a child in the second

car resulted in an additional charge

of endangering the welfare of a minor
