Grace ClarkPublished Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Grace Hampton Clark, 84, of Emmet, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born in Natchitoches, La., on February 23, 1924, to Larry and Izora Patch Hampton. She was a homemaker and family sitter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Emmet; member of the Home Demonstration Club in Emmet and the Hope Melonaires Square Dancing Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett E.C. Clark, who died March 20, 2005; two brothers, Rick and Otis Hampton; and three sisters, Dottie OQuin, Georgia Goodwin and Jean Sefferman. Her survivors include two daughters, Mittie Malone and Annie Duncan, both of Emmet; two brothers, Charles Hampton of Natchitoches, La. and Johnny Reed Hampton of Texas; four grandchildren, Sean Clark and Kim, Tracie Brewster, Leah McJunkins and Sam of Genoa, and Vicki Marbury and Cory, all of Emmet; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, with Revs. Jerry Westmoreland and James Cox officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. The family received friends Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 6-8 p.m, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
