Harvey Nubbin Blevins

Harvey Harris Nubbin Blevins, 66, of Prescott, died Aug. 2, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Mr. Blevins was born Feb. 14, 1942, in Nevada County to the late Marvin and Hattie Harris Blevins. He was a retired millwright and a member of the Prescott Church of Christ. Nubbin courageously battle heart disease for twenty-five years. His strength and zest for life were an inspiration to all that knew him. Nubbin was an avid reader and had a life-long thirst for knowledge. He was known for his wit and gentle nature. His passions were genealogy, fishing and hunting and children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years Bobbie Smith Blevins; son, Mark Blevins and Shawn of Russelville; daughter, Vicki Marbury and Cory of Emmet; step-daughter, Diana Cearley Crews of Prescott; step-son Gary Dale Cearley and Pinkan of Bangkok, Thailand; ten grandchildren, Charlene and Jay Lucy of Conway, Brandi and James Schaffers of Mayflowers, Justin and Brandi Young, Bailey, Ciara, and Lexi Grace Blevins, all of Russellville; J.D. and Justin Purtle of Prescott; Harvey Dale Cearley of Viet Nam; five great-grandchildren, Layla, Dixie, Chyanne and Jacee Purtle of Prescott; Kennedy Hancock of Mayflower; sister, Nellie Blevins Harden of Prescott; mother-in-law, Elva Smith of Prescott and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, family and friends. Nubbin was surrogate father to grandsons, J.D. and Justin Purtle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leathel Blevins, adopted son, Michael David Blevins and a step-son, Scott Greene.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Pharr Funeral Home in Prescott. A memorial celebration for Nubbin will be Thursday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Prescott Church of Christ with his nephew Bro. James Cox officiating. Sign our online guest book at www.pharrfuneralhomes.com
