Hugh McCoy Jr.Published Wednesday, August 6, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneHugh Layne McCoy Jr., 65, of Benton, died Aug. 2, 2008, in Benton. He was born Sept. 19, 1942. He was the son of Hugh L. and Matilda Finkbeiner McCoy. He was a plant engineer, a member of the Methodist Church in Prescott, and a graduate of Georgia Tech. with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jennie McCoy and one daughter, Emily McCoy. His survivors include one son, Layne McCoy of Benton. The chapel service was at Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5, with Bro. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. The interment was in DeAnn Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4, at the Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott. Services were under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott.
