Lois LumpkinPublished Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Lois Kitchens Lumpkin, 80, of Hope, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on Jan. 22, 1928, in Gurdon, to Ray and Madie Lucilee Clark Kitchens. She was retired from Cal-maine, a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Hope Church of Christ and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linda Uzzel. Her survivors include her husband of 44 years, James R. Lumpkin of Hope; three daughters, Mary Lucille Pittman of Lake Charles, La., Paula Loibner and Michael of Rison, and Lois Eileen Lee and Larry of Texarkana; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, with Bros. Craig Loibner and Lanis Lindsey officiating. The burial was in Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon. The arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. The family received friends Wednesday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Prescott.
